Window seats shots, inside a plane, just of an airplane... :)

I love to travel and try as I might, I have trouble getting good shots from the window seat. Here is an example of good versus bad.

I miss traveling so much. Going from traveling all the time to never going anywhere really blows.

I want to go somewhere. Anywhere. Maybe we’ll do the cross-country train trip in the new year. It’s going to be a while before I get back on a plane. I never really liked them anyway, even though I’ve been flying since I was 9 months old.

I miss Hong Kong. Favorite city in the world. I miss Shanghai and its charms. I miss the night markets in Taiwan. I miss Vietnam. Hell, I even miss the little restaurant with giant beers at Narita Airport. I miss meeting new people all over the States. Can’t wait for things to be back to normal.

I love that idea. I’ve been wanting to do a train cross-country trip for a while now. I like flying though.

I love travelling - has traveled a lot - and yes, I miss it.

I even like airports - less the reality of the airport experience nowadays, but rather, what they represent in terms of travel, and dreams, exploration, adventure, and simply seeing the world.

Thank you. It was at a breakers yard (do you call it that?) near where I used to live. I was never 100% satisfied with it due to the railings.
I couldn’t tell you if we call it that or not. Reminds me of studying architecture in French civ class and the instructor kept repeating “flying buttress” in English - like that would help. I finally got her to understand that it didn’t matter which language she used, I had no clue what the architectural concept was.

I think they call it the wrecking yard or salvage yard....something like that. Where old cars or old other things go to be disassembled and the various parts sold or used in other ways.

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! I am hopeful that the car dealership where I just traded her in, which has a large used-vehicle component as well, will give her the loving care and attention she needs (repairs of a couple small, rather minor cosmetic things, a new paint job, four new tires, an oil change, and probably she needs other fluids to be checked and added if need be as well (windshield washer, antifreeze in the A/C, whatever.....). She was working fine, had passed state inspection and has low mileage, but I was just concerned that my fifteen years of good luck with her might run out at an inconvenient time and that something major would suddenly go blooie and I'd be looking at an expensive repair. I wrestled with the decision for a while, but knew I had to do something one way or another pretty soon. I finally decided that this was a really good time to buy a new car -- especially before winter sets in -- and then I'd have peace of mind about having a truly reliable vehicle.....

I am pretty sure the car dealership willl be able to do the needful and then they'll put a new price tag on her and park her in the Used Car area and wait for someone to come along and say, "ooooh! An Acura RSX!!" I think I'll avert my eyes for a while when driving past there, as I suspect it would affect me, seeing her sitting in the used Car lot.....

Yes, "breakers yard" is the term I am familiar with, as well.

Ah, this is where a background in medieval history can be of benefit.

Once upon a distant time, as a teenager, I actually paid a visit to the (surprisingly unassuming, but I was absolutely awestruck) church (cathedral) of Saint-Denis, in a grotty enough suburb of north Paris - actually the place is formally known as the "Basilica of Saint-Denis" - and it is the first Gothic church ever built, or rather, the building that shows the first use of all of the elements, or features, of Gothic architecture, (including the aforementioned flying buttresses).
