Thanks for that link. This is definitely an issue that did not start with the pandemic, although the pandemic made it worse (by giving some an excuse).

I won’t provide data. You shouldn’t only rely on data too as the data can’t always be trusted

unfortunately not trusting data is simply an invitation to believe anything one can imagine. Certainly there's the prospect that "data" is missing something, but that doesn't suggest that imagination is an adequate substitute, especially when "social media" is rife with "proof" that's highly misleading or out right false.

...I understand why Black people would like to see the data. It seems like a smear with repercussions for a whole group of people based on a what some view as bad actors....

Especially when evidence from "social media" is the "proof" being offered to deny what data shows.

True. People should go by their experiences too. Personally been victim and witness to many crimes targeting Asian. Hate crimes and violence. Relatives victims too. Robberies multiple times. Not just now but before. Asians are targeted. And on neighborhood Nextdoor app it’s way too often, but that counts as social media too.
