In the US for similar behavior you get punished by being allowed to run for a second term.

AFAIK this would be a unique application of the law (as opposed to more typical stuff like military genocide, etc.)...but in this case, I don't see a problem with it.

Heck, if it works and there's some kind of enforceable punishment, maybe we could try it with Trump, Scott Atlas and the rest of that bunch of hacks and quacks.
