Freedom Convoy: GoFundMe seizes funds of Canada 'occupation'
The crowdfunding website cites reports of "unlawful activity", a claim rejected by protest organisers.

I didn't see a general thread for this topic, so I figured I would start one since this doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. GoFundMe has now frozen donations to the protest movement citing the violence they've caused; meanwhile other Canadian cities are bracing for increased protests.
Why Canada? How come there haven't been protests like this in America since the very beginning of the pandemic? Are our restrictions just much less strict? Or is this is a sign of what might be coming to the U.S.?
