Conflict in Yemen escalates

Yemen is another region of the world that doesn't get much attention from the Western media. Today, drone strikes by the Saudi-UAE coalition against the Iran-backed Houthi rebels killed 70 people:

This is in the wake of a Houthi drone strike on the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi a few days ago. What do you think will be the outcome of this conflict? What should the U.S.'s role be? (We are, after all, allies of Saudi Arabia, for better or for worse).

We will continue to arm Saudi Arabia. We need to make up for exiting Afghanistan somehow, plus inexplicably increasing our military budget after that exit. Contractors need to get paid, yo!

Osama bin Laden was from Saudi Arabia. Instead of attacking them, we spent 20 years in Afghanistan. Can’t attack the country with the oil...

It's a proxy war, Iran's favorite way of stirring pots to make trouble for Western interests in the Middle East. It doesn't even bother them to back Sunni-led factions sometimes. Thing is, it doesn't bother US defense contractors either. About the only things as fungible as dollars are missiles and the systems to launch them.
