These studies are important, even if they show negative results, because if the methodology is sound, it can be contrasted and compared with many studies, over years and decades. One study that shows "we noticed a pattern here" is not enough. To make it worse, you can tell most of the people saying "Aha! I knew it!" don't read the entire article, where the same study also references other studies with the exact opposite results.
