It works but it isn't particularly sophisticated. If all you are looking for is an inexpensive/free (free if you already have a paid iCloud account) to have a custom/professional email domain for mail, it works but don't expect too much in the way of features. You'll have to sort through your inbox either manually or with a smart mailbox if you want to separate out iCloud from the custom domain email. It doesn't have any "catchall account" features. You need to specify up to only 3 email addresses.
