Watching March roll out real winter
If Ivanka and Jared have an ounce of common sense they will distance themselves from any sort of Trump rally on January 20th, at least in any public setting, even if behind scenes they may have been involved in it. On any Inauguration Day, the wannabe movers and shakers (or wannabe political survivors) in DC generally want to be seen as at least tolerant of if not supportive of an incoming administration. It's probably the one day that a constituency back home is not the focus of public remarks by pols in the Beltway: they're all about not stepping on their chances to line up at the trough of any new administration. That means doffing caps to the new prez and VP because the national committee of that team's political party as well as campaign staffers are watching and taking names.
The best thing that mainstream media outlets could do on Jan 20th is focus on the new administration and if Trump or his surrogates and followers are off somewhere trying to grab attention, cover it in the third from last paragraph with the exact same dismissive line: "There were a few unconfirmed reports from [some location] that [ some people or some groups] were trying to distract attention from the day's festivities but the focus was on the incoming Biden-Harris team and Americans' hopes for success of the new administration."
