I know there is a lot of politics in the news at the moment but I feel there should be a distinction between the 2 forums, if for no other reasons than your not sure where to start a thread or which subforum you will find a thread you are participating in. Maybe change the name to “Non Political News & Current Events” and then move the clearly politics related threads to General Politics?

I have it setup that way because I'll often post news (political or otherwise) in the News forum for the purposes of sharing on FB, which brings in a lot of traffic, albeit anonymous.

I would just post in whichever one you think is most relevant, it seems like they will get views and replies either way.
