I'm expecting blazingly fast performance (CPU and GPU) + incredible battery life, and if the M1 machines are any indication, the price will actually be pretty stellar given the performance-to-battery ratio.

This is Apple we're talking about here. The M1x/M2's are going to be aimed at the higher end markets. That means they'll have excellent performance, stellar battery life, and be priced accordingly.

I'll be shocked if the entry level M1x/2 16" MBP's are priced at $1999.
