I wonder what he offered. These should be terms of any settlement with Trump if the nation wants to avoid the spectacle of an ex-president in jail:Don't forget, only guilty people settle lawsuits! That is another Trump claim. He has already offered James a settlement to avoid a lawsuit.
o He must provide a complete, public allocution admitting his guilt in the theft and retention of classified documents, the incitement of the insurrection and the falsification of financial records.
o He must agree to turn over any and all classified documents remaining in his possession and to fully account for those that are missing.
o He must agree to reveal any and all accomplices in the aforementioned crimes.
o He must agree not to run for any public office or take part in any political campaign.
o He must acknowledge that agreeing to these terms does not shield him from any civil lawsuits such as was recently brought by the Attorney General of NY.
o He must acknowledge that violation of any of these terms will result in indictments for the aforementioned crimes.
We can only hope, right?
