Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous, with low humidity and mild temperatures so I headed out in the afternoon for some shooting at a local botanical gardens. A staff member tending to the beautiful plantings surrounding the gazebo at Green Spring Gardens, Annandale, VA:
We had a rare lightning storm, I drove up to a local hilltop and was able to grab this shot. The camera was on a tripod with a remote shutter release, about 2 dozen shots (attempts) and was lucky to get this one right in front of the lens.
Just wanted to follow up that I posted this on Twitter and The Weather Channel reached out and asked me if they could share it on their main TWC channel and affiliate outlets. It's also being featured on the local news in Sacramento.
