Nice, but no peer reviewed data yet (I didn't dig around in preprints...but nothing on google scholar that picks it up). There were some promising data on colchicine cardiovascular issues + COVID19 but that's from 105 patients. So we'll see.

We def. need a good therapeutic agent. I suspect colchicine actually works on immune cells and not the virus.

From what I've read, colchicine is a pretty nasty drug. It can do some pretty awful things. I guess it's probably better than dying from COVID though.

Not my favorite drug for sure:D It has a narrow therapeutic index (meaning: easy to under or over dose it), but it's routinely used for gout prevention and even I deal with it occasionally.

For example, hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine aren't the worst drugs either (nasty tho). The prime issue with it it's weak arrhytmogenic potential which is worsened in the setting of the heart inflammation that COVID causes. This is one of the reasons I was very very disappointed in Elon Musk dunning krugering himself into drug research. There's a very good reason people spend 10+ years in training (takes more like 15-20y to become a clinical trialist).
