Police brutalized this person who committed the crime of riding in a Lyft when the driver got pulled over. The video is very upsetting.

This is disgusting. The question is what did this man do to deserve this? They approached him on the passengers side, obviously escalated and then held him down while beating him. Even if the man was resisting who can blame him, these assholes think they're above the law and expect "yes sir, please abuse my rights, sir, thank you, sir".

No. Fuck them, they do not have the right to abuse people's rights like this and if you resist when you're not doing anything in the first place, they don't have a right to beat or kill you, especially if you're unarmed.

The other side will seize on the fact that it wasn't a Lyft, but an off-duty driver. That the passenger, although right to refuse the request to show ID for an illegal search by the police, has outstanding warrants from two counties. He's a convicted felon accused of child neglect/abuse. Of course, the cops didn't know any of this and just assumed the passengers were criminals. One of the passengers was the son of the couple riding in the car.

The driver should've been cited. The passengers should have been left alone. End of discussion. Now we have a man brutalized on video. I see a lawsuit in the not-too-distant future. In addition, two LEOs have been fired and possibly facing charges. Racism is a helluva mindset.
