Exactly how it was when labor wasn't treated with same respect as a bag of nails.

The Dems need to focus on economic issues and how to dig the USA out of the hole that unfettered capitalism is still trying to dig further (intentionally or not, i.e,. it's not that oligarchies hate human beings, they just like rising profit margins more).

I'm pretty sure Democrats are able to chew gum and walk at the same time: to pitch economic issues means more than just "elect us, we'll focus on creating more jobs" -- it means what is the range of domestic job markets today and how do we ensure equitable opportunity to get them? And what that means: how do education and housing and nutrition fit in, and who's been getting shorted on that and how shall we work on fixing that so everyone really gets a fair shot. Time to quit letting Rs redefine all that as socialism and discrimination against "people who actually work for a living" and all their other FoxSnooze bullet points of often racially coded disinformation.

And PS: everyone has to take a train or plane or get out and drive on a road and bridge at some point in life, so how about some goddamned infrastructure repairs past the annual half-assed effort to cold-patch potholes the mayor's limo might pass over? One thing I know for sure is most of the jobs on infrastructure are domestic ones, even if someone in Germany makes the steel and someone in Singapore happens to design the bridge. It's not like they ship entire prefabricated airports and train stations from someplace abroad to the USA, and same with bridge replacements. I'm sure Dems can pitch infrastructure investment and find independent voters ready to listen.... compared to how Trump "did" infrastructure, which was to have a White House theme week announcement about it, and then step on his own message before even leaving the podium by taking questions and going off on a tangent immediately.

How we grow an economy that is sustainable is not by allowing the humongous wealth and income gaps the USA has accumulated to continue widening the gulf between the haves and the have-nots. The Dems can successfully pitch investment in job creation and call the oligarchy-lovers in congress to account on their bullshit objections to "risk of taxpayer funds". When did a Republican like the idea of having taxpayer funds in the bank anyway. Ask ourselves that and their whole thing of tax breaks and deregulation unravels to reveal nothing but greed.

Biden administration should make Infrastructure Week a real thing, and bang out a huge WPA-style campaign to fix stuff and build new stuff. The Obama administration's ARRA with about $48.1 billion was really helpful, but it ended up being so limited that while we got major repairs in infrastructure under TIGER—and later FASTLANE—we didn't get a seachange in improvements.

I'd link so-called "green infrastructure" to these efforts. Let's build some solar and wind farms, and figure out where to make nuclear work effectively. Let's upgrade California's energy system so it doesn't keep failing or burning down the forests, and make sure that nearly every house in Arizona's got a solar array. Let's update the infrastructure in Navajo country so that people have water and power all the time.

We need a lot of work, and Obama's early efforts were disrupted by Congressional recalcitrance, while Trump did nothing.
