New feature coming. If enabled, even if someone has your passcode and steals your phone, and they aren’t at a location like your home or work, they won’t be able to hijack your iCloud account for at least an hour, hopefully giving you time to remotely disable the phone.

Sounds good. I’m curious to see how this works for people on vacation. To me, that would be a prime time for your device to get nicked as you’re in a less familiar place and may not have easy access to an alternate device.

From someone who had an opportunistic thief grab their phone while in France, I wholeheartedly applause any attempt to fix this issue.

Update: I turned it OFF and I was " lucky" even if I had the iCloud forced pass change because I was at home and it didn't trigger the delay.
A lot of people are so angry at Apple because for few locations didn't work even if they where at home, others had the Stolen Device On while travelling and couldn't reset the password and all of them had to wait one hour, locked out from everything .
Not fun
