Former US President Donald Trump wins election, for a rural fire district in Oregon

After a five-way tie among write-in candidates for a seat on the board of a rural fire district in western Oregon, Donald Trump won by a roll of dice.

Since he owns no property in the Hubbard fire district, others will be approached to see if they are interested.

This story hits close to home. Literally. Hubbard was a few miles up the road from Woodburn where I went to Jr High and High school. I'm super familiar with that town. It sits in between Salem and Portland. It's super rural, lots of farming and things along those lines. I worked on a grass farm outside Hubbard when I was in high school. My sister lived there for years and still works at the school there where all her kids graduated. I'm not surprised that guy would be popular there. They're well outside the liberal influence of Portland. It's probably a 30-40 minute drive from where I currently live.
