Stochastic terrorism

Definition: refers to political or media figures publicly demonizing a person or group in such a way that it inspires supporters of the figures to commit a violent act against the target of the speech. Unlike incitement to terrorism, this is accomplished by using indirect, vague, or coded language that allows the instigator to plausibly disclaim responsibility for the resulting violence. Global trends point to increasing violent rhetoric and political violence, including more evidence of stochastic terrorism.

Obviously Trump fits the bill here, but I learned of the term on a video about Libs of TikTok and the woman who runs it. Every time she has called out a school or hospital bomb threats have been made shortly after. Every time. But thanks to the current state of free speech she can just shrug it off. She’s also one of the many assholes who uses "think about the kids" while doing things that puts kids in danger.

Not sure if this is directly related, but it’s a combination of stupidity and conspiracy mixed with what can only be described as “snowflakiness”.

This kind of stupidity delays flights, makes passengers uncomfortable and exposing yourself to be a douche. I mean seriously, a mask on someone else makes you uncomfortable? Long before COVID, you’d see someone on the train or bus with a mask, or in public. They are trying to prevent getting sick. Or maybe they like the way it looks. What concern is ir of yours? This fool wasn’t being asked to mask up, just had a beef with someone who chose to wear a mask.

Sounds to me like he was drunk, but of course he only had a couple of drinks and everyone else was the issue.

Here is a fine example: our delightful ShitGibbon posted some video of a pickup flying American Flags in ostentatious irony, for on the tailgate is painted an image of Joe the President laying bound and gagged. Granted, the ShitGibbon did not create that image, or paint it on one of his own vehicles, but he has to post the video of the traitorous truck, because he has no filters. He is literally signalling his approval of acts of violence upon the sitting President: that should be enough to have his Secret Service detail taken away from him.
